Family Outreach - Dumfries and Galloway
How We Help
Intensive Family Support Service
We help children, young people and families who are struggling to manage the challenges of day-to-day life. They may be affected by a range of issues, including drug and alcohol use. We support children from birth, and work alongside whole families.
Our family workers spend time with children and families in their own homes, at our local spaces or in other community locations.
We offer support which builds on existing strengths and interests, helping families find their own solutions and make new community connections. This might include: offering practical help with school work; supporting family member(s) to attend meetings when necessary; helping to establish family routines and boundaries; building life skills such as healthy eating and cooking on a budget; encouraging participation in Parent and Toddler groups; Book bug activities.
